This module is part of the Advanced Certificate in Data Protection Operational Excellence programme.

It provides participants with an understanding and implementation of Data Protection by Design (DPbD) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA). Participants will learn the key principles and implementation for Data Protection by Design in various scenarios including Data Protection Trust Mark (DPTM) considerations and principles. Using a mixture of enforcement cases and scenarios, participants will also learn to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments using a blended approach.

Who Should Attend

Data Protection Officers, Compliance Managers (Dedicated / Part-time) or personnel with data protection responsibilities. Also for personnel handling personal data, eg Finance, Human Resource, Sales and Marketing, IT, Customer Service.


Course assessment will be based on classroom exercises, case studies and project presentation.

Funding Incentives

1. SkillsFuture Series

Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents are eligible for 70% course fee funding (excluding GST) for successful enrolment into approved courses under the Programme. This funding is applicable to both individual and company sponsored participants.

Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above will enjoy 90% course fee funding (excluding GST).

2. SkillsFuture Credit**

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits (up to S$500) to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

3. Absentee Payroll
