Overview

To thrive in tomorrow's rapidly changing and global environment, companies have no option but to launch innovation programmes to attract new customers, and open new markets. Tap into market opportunities with effective go-to-market strategies by turning "Ideas" into business cases.

In this course, you will learn the basic conceptual frameworks and tools for doing just that, as well as for assessing an idea's potential. You will understand how to create, articulate and evaluate new innovation ideas and viable or scalable opportunities for new ventures. You will analyse and validate business models from different perspectives such as lean management. On top of lectures and exercises, you will get to discuss what you have learned with your peers, and apply and deepen your new knowledge through trial and error. You will also go through case studies considering the process and experiences of successful firms in different industries.

Offered by the same faculty/Instructor teaching in SMU's Master of Science in Innovation, this course aims to expose participants to key concepts in innovation that can be readily translated into practical business cases for themselves and the organizations that they work in.

Full Fee: S$1,712 per pax (including GST)

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Funding for Individuals:

  • S$513.60 (including GST) for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
  • S$193.60 (including GST) for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above

Funding

Speaker/Trainer Bio

Dr. Frank Siegfried

Adjunct Faculty

Lee Kong Chian School of Business

Dr. Frank Siegfried accumulated 2 years of working experience in several high-tech Multi-National Companies (MNC’s), working in Germany, UK, PRC and Singapore prior to joining Academia and forming his own Advisory business. He received his Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) from Manchester University and is an Adjunct Faculty in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at SMU. He is Program Director at SMU Executive Development, and teaches subjects related to Megatrends, VUCA World, Scenario Planning, Strategy, Change, Risk, Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Innovation Management to practitioner from local and international companies.

He also teaches Global MBA students at Manchester Business School using Scientific Principles related to strategic analysis and planning, decision making for differentiation and innovation, entrepreneurial finance, risk mitigation, go-to- market primary data collection using qualitative and quantitative research methods mostly applied in high-tech or financial services industry contexts. His work seeks to create actionable interventions with impact to make changes in relation to the industry’s most pressing issues.
