Overview
This course approaches cloud computing through the lens of developing and deploying simple applications. Participants will receive a hands-on introduction to the various core cloud services in computing, storage, networking, and AI available on Amazon Web Services. This class is tailored for professionals wanting to get started with AWS Cloud. The course is conducted through an ideal mix of classroom lectures, hands-on coding and technical labs, and various real-world business case studies.
At the end of the programme, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundation cloud services available on AWS and be ready to take the official, industry recognised AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification exam.
Learning Objectives
- Able to initiate and coordinate team activity for new web projects on AWS Cloud9, design and style basic web applications and implement user controls and interactivity features
- Learn how to utilise cutting edge AWS capabilities in machine vision, natural language processing, forecasting, fraud detection and machine speech through a series of hands on labs and practical projects
- Learn about how to leverage the AWS Quicksight service, stunning interactive dashboards for Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting
- Learn to integrate the HTML, CSS and JavaScript elements, as well as API calls to AWS Services using the AWS Amplify toolset to create a content-rich web application
- Learn how to build and deploy web server and backend application functionality over the AWS Elastic Beanstalk service
- Be introduced to Cloud Computing, and be exposed to the most commonly used cloud services provided by AWS
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in AWS Cloud Services and Technicals, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:

Module 2: Smart Apps and APIs with AWS AI Services
Module 3: Databases and Data Infrastructure on AWS
Module 4: Modern Web UIs with React and AWS Amplify
Module 5: Building Web APIs with AWS Elastic Beanstalk
Module 6: AWS Cloud Services and Applications
This course is also a part of the Advanced Diploma in Cloud Management and Applications.

Upon completion of all 6 modules within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital Advanced Certificate in AWS Cloud Services and Technicals.
