Overview

This module is part of the Advanced Certificate in Data Protection Operational Excellence programme.


It provides participants with a solid foundation for the governance of a privacy program and defines how the privacy program may be developed, measured and improved.

Participants will learn the management and operations of the privacy program governance model within the context of the organization’s privacy strategy. A deep understanding of Privacy Program Operational Life Cycle domain is built upon a common industry-accepted framework of: Assessing or analysing an organization’s privacy regime; Protecting information assets through the implementation of industry-leading privacy and security controls and technology; Sustaining the privacy program through communication, training and management actions; and Responding to privacy incidents. (Participants have the option to sit for IAPP's Certified Information Privacy Manager's exam - payable separately)

Who Should Attend

Data Protection Officers, Compliance Managers (Dedicated / Part-time) or personnel with data protection responsibilities. Also for personnel handling personal data, eg Finance, Human Resource, Sales and Marketing, IT, Customer Service. The IAPP Certified Information Privacy Manager credential is accredited  under ANSI/ISO standard 17024:2012.

Assessment

Course assessment will be based on classroom exercises, case studies and project presentation. 

Fees and Funding

SkillsFuture Series 

Course fee grant at 70% of course fees (excluding GST) for participants who are successfully enrolled by SMU into approved courses under the Programme. Participants must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.

SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy ("MCES")
Up to 90% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs ("ETSS")
Up to 90% of course fees for employees of SMEs who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents

Workfare Training Support Scheme ("WTS")
Up to 95% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 35 years and above (13 years and above for persons with disabilities) earning a monthly income of not more than S$2,000.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above, and self-funding may use their SkillsFuture Credit (up to S$500) to defray part of the course fee. Please click User Guide on how to submit your claim. SkillsFuture Credit claims may be submitted by logging in via MySkillsFuture.sg.

Absentee Payroll

Full Fee: S$3,210 per participant (including GST).

Nett fees payable per participant after SSG Funding:

  • S$963 (including GST) for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
