FinTech: A Practical Introduction

Programme Code: CRS-N-0044987

The financial services industry has come a long way from books, ledgers, and even calculators.

Fintech has not only disrupted but is defining the industry, making great strides in improving how corporations and consumers are managing their money. By giving them greater access to information and making data processing more efficient, Fintech enables every member of the financial ecosystem to make more informed buying, selling and investing decisions.

As Fintech continues to evolve, it has become more important than ever for financial professionals to understand how it works and its effects on the industry from a micro and macro perspective. Constant updates and continuing education have therefore become indispensable to making the most of every opportunity presented by each new Fintech development.

FinTech represents the technologies which are disrupting traditional financial services, including mobile payments, money transfers, loans, fundraising, peer-to- peer lending, and crowdsourcing. It presents traditional finance with unprecedented challenges through waves of new, innovative ideas which are having an increasingly sizeable impact on global finance and how as businesses and individuals, we conduct our financial matters.

Led by an expert in financial technology, this course offers insights into the financial technology revolution and disruption. It provides participants with the opportunity to understand the origins of FinTech and factors that have led to its creation and influence. Importantly, it offers insights into how FinTech is pushing boundaries and shaping finance.
