Who Should Attend
- Participants are expected to have software programming skills (web or mobile) equivalent to that covered in the Advanced Certificate in AWS Cloud Services and Technicals, Professional Certificate in Web Application Development or Professional Certificate in Mobile Application Development programmes.
- Some basic familiarity with the AWS Cloud is preferred but not required.
- The course also prepares learners looking to prepare for the AWS Certified Developer and AWS SysOps Administrator Associate Certification exams.

PREREQUISITES
- Participants with at least a diploma qualification
- Ability to code in modern object-oriented programming like Python, JavaScript, Java or C++ (above 50 hours of prior programming experience)
Overview
Students will access various AWS services such as S3, EC2, DynamoDB and other networking services. They will also learn how to use these simpler services as foundations for building more complex services on AWS.
At the end of the course, students will acquire the skills and knowledge on how to architect, design, and piece together services to build any application they desire on AWS.
This module is not available on a standalone basis.
Learning Objectives
- Appreciate the benefits of cloud computing over on-premises infrastructure
- Navigating around the AWS console
- Be able to create identity and security roles on the AWS IAM service to restrict access privileges on AWS
- Understanding the concept of S3 as cloud storage
- Understand the concept of virtualisation and how EC2s are virtualised computers by AWS
- Understand how to package and deploy server applications to Elastic Beanstalk
- Understand the concept of DynamoDB as a fully managed database service
- Able to use PynamoDB as a Python interface tool to interact with DynamoDB
- Create, deploy and manipulate AWS services from the command line using the AWS CLI tool
- Incorporate AWS functionality into the apps built using the Python and JS AWS SDKs
- Using open source diagramming software like LucidChart to create AWS Architecture diagrams to plan for apps' cloud infrastructure

Upon meeting the attendance and assessment criteria, participants will be awarded a digital certificate for participating in each module. Please refer to our course policies to view the attendance and assessment criteria.
