This module is presented in the following blended learning format:

3.5 hours: Synchronous e-Learning (Weekday, 9am-12.30pm)
3.5 hours: Asynchronous e-Learning
7 hours: Classroom Training (Weekday, 9am-5pm)

Who Should Attend

This programme is aimed at educators and organisational leaders who are keen to understand and leverage Edtech to innovate from within the institutions and learning organisations. The programme is specifically designed for those who seek to integrate new technologies and tools into the learning process.

 

PREREQUISITES

Participants should preferably be an educator or leader of a school, university, learning teams/ organisation, or Edtech startups.

Overview

In Module 1, participants will explore the evolution of Edtech and its relevance in modern education. They will understand the key drivers behind its development and the importance of creating an engaging and interactive learning environment. Additionally, they will gain insights into global Edtech investment trends, and growth opportunities within the industry, and examine how the recent pandemic acted as a catalyst for the accelerated adoption and innovation of Edtech solutions. By the end of the module, participants will be equipped with a solid foundation in Edtech fundamentals, empowering them to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the sector.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how to define Edtech and its relevance to modern education
  • Learn about the key stakeholders in the Edtech ecosystem
  • Identify key milestones and influential players in the evolution of Edtech
  • Understand global Edtech dynamics and investment trends

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

Previously, he was Director of Academia & Entrepreneurship at Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship. He has extensive experience in advising governments and large institutions in APAC and MENA on large scale education programs focusing on digital transformation, as well as leading universities on EdTech adoption. 

Academically, he has established the 1st Fintech & Entrepreneurial Finance course at EDHEC Business School and teaches at a number of leading universities in both Europe and Asia. Alessandro is also a Fellow at the Asian Institute of International Financial Law at the University of Hong Kong. 

Alessandro has been working the development of leading online courses on the topic of Fintech and Edtech that have upskilled 150,000+ people globally.

In addition to the above, she also steered the implementation of innovative pedagogy, including the use of EdTech tools, in the classroom, as part of Staf Developer portfolio. 

Kristie has more than 20 years of experience in education. She started of as a classroom teacher before moving into an EdTech consulting role and eventually found herself entering the field of providing customized core and enrichment training for teachers, students, parents and corporate groups.
