This module is presented in the following blended learning format:

3.5 hours: Synchronous e-Learning (Weekday, 9am-12.30pm)
3.5 hours: Asynchronous e-Learning
7 hours: Classroom Training (Weekday, 9am-5pm)

Who Should Attend

This programme is aimed at educators and organisational leaders who are keen to understand and leverage Edtech to innovate from within the institutions and learning organisations. The programme is specifically designed for those who seek to integrate new technologies and tools into the learning process.

 

PREREQUISITES

Participants should preferably be an educator or leader of a school, university, learning teams/ organisation, or Edtech startups.

Overview

In Module 2, participants will explore the different verticals Edtech for the future of education. This taxonomy serves as a guide to understand and navigate the diverse landscape of Edtech, making it easier to identify, evaluate, and implement the most suitable solutions for specific learning needs. Participants will gain an overview of the Edtech ecosystem and emerging trends to help them stay informed of the the latest advancements in the field. By organising Edtech tools into a taxonomy, participants can make informed decisions about integrating technology into their teaching practices and leverage its potential to enhance learners engagement, collaboration, and achievement.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the different verticals of Edtech innovation
  • Learn about how Edtech innovations have been applied
  • Understand the Edtech ecosystem and how it is redefining education

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

She has supported over 40 companies, including Fortune 500 organizations & MNCs. Karen serves as an advisor to clients, staying updated on industry trends, conducting competitor analysis, and refining solutions and success measurement.

Karen has extensive experience in instructional and custom learning interventions design. She was previously with EMERITUS Institute of Management, an online education platform that offers high-quality online courses from top-rated universities. She also spent 5 years at a private educational firm, The Learning Lab, where she specialized in developing the annual English curriculum plan based on consumer demands and market trends. She holds a Masters degree in education where she has a specialisation in curriculum design.

Kristie was previously Head of Professional Learning & Technology with Raffles Institution where she led an academic team in the development, growth and constant refinement of curriculum in teaching thinking. In addition to the above, she also steered the implementation of innovative pedagogy, including the use of EdTech tools, in the classroom, as part of Staf Developer portfolio. 

Kristie has more than 20 years of experience in education. She started of as a classroom teacher before moving into an EdTech consulting role and eventually found herself entering the field of providing customized core and enrichment training for teachers, students, parents and corporate groups.
