Overview
The CFtP Foundation Training focuses on the fundamental concepts and tools that provide the foundation to understand the science and the art of Fintech. Module 1 discusses Ethics and Governance related to Fintech. Behaving ethically and complying with regulations are necessary requirements for a competent Fintech professional.
The first part of this module covers a framework for ethical decision making. As the subject of ethics is seldom taught in school, this framework provides a systematic approach to ethical issues.
The second part of the module focuses on the ethical principles embodied in the CFtP Code of Ethics. The principles revolve around integrity, fairness, the duty of care, and respect for the rights of others.
The third part of the module discusses the CFtP Standards of Practice. These standards relate to the professional’s work and cover aspects such as competence, standard of work, knowledge of laws and regulations, confidentiality and security, and finally, leadership.
The fourth and last part of the module involves the regulation and governance of Fintech areas such as AI, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and Data Protection. General issues relating to accountability, equity, and transparency are discussed, followed by specific issues pertaining to each of the four areas. Finally, ESG and sustainability round off the discussion on governance and Fintech professionals need to be aware of the impact their actions have on sustainability.
