Who Should Attend

The program is targeted at individuals who want to boost their ability to change and adapt. It also serves as a foundation to change management, mindset and innovation practitioners. The skills we teach are relevant in the context of small, medium-sized enterprises as well as within large corporations . 


PREREQUISITES

There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.

Overview

Brace yourself for a world of lightning-fast change! Unfortunately, most of us struggle to keep up. But the good news is we can learn to adapt and thrive.

This 2-day program caters to the needs of individuals and organizations that want to know how adapt positively and productively with the tremendous amount of change that we are presently experiencing. The program enables participants to learn three important lessons: 

  1. How we naturally react to change
  2. How we can become more adaptable 
  3. How we can use these concepts to allow us to deliver higher levels of business performance by constantly experimenting learning and growing. It focuses on practical application and skill development for the individual
 
 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day course, participants will graduate from this class developing a powerful overview of adaptability and change models, practices and methods. Most importantly, they will apply the skill of dealing positively with change by constantly experimenting, learning, growing, and staying resilient. Attendees will also learn about how to adaptation and change management in their organization and what it takes to be successful. They will start their journey on becoming Agents of Change.

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by SMU Academy.

SkillsFuture Credit

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
  • Trainees are eligible for ETSS funding only if their company's SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date. To verify your SME's status, please click here.

Derek Ariss
Head of Innovation Education
INNOVENTIEM

Derek is Head of Innovation Education at INNOVENTIEM PTE LTD and is responsible for building the educatin practice focusing on adaptability, change, creativity, design thinking, technology, culture and mindset conducive to innovation.


Prior to his current role, Derek was the Head of Innovation at LendLease. He was responsible for designing processes to deliver improved products and systems, nurturing a culture of innovation in Asia, and developing productive relationships with organisations that focus on innovation and growth. Before his position as Head of Innovation, he was Head of Retail Operations overseeing the retail assets managed by the company across Asia.


Derek teaches Innovation Culture and SMU Certificate in FinTech and Innovation at Singapore Management University.


Since 2108 he is regular writer/contributor to Banking Insights Magazine, for the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. 


He holds an MBA in International Marketing and Strategy and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from University of Windsor, Canada, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology (Honours) from McMaster University.
