Overview
This module provides an in-depth exploration of the ethical considerations, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements related to artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital economy. Participants will examine the ethical implications of AI technologies and their impact on society, privacy, bias, and accountability. The module also covers best practices for implementing governance structures that ensure responsible AI development and deployment within organisations. Additionally, participants will gain insights into the evolving regulatory landscape governing AI applications and learn how to navigate compliance challenges effectively. Through case studies and practical exercises, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate ethical principles into AI strategies while adhering to relevant regulations in the digital economy.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the ethical considerations and implications of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in various industries, including potential biases, privacy concerns, and societal impacts
- Analyse the existing governance frameworks for AI implementation and develop strategies to ensure responsible use of AI within organisations
- Evaluate regulatory requirements related to AI technologies in different jurisdictions and industries, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards
- Apply ethical decision-making frameworks to real-world scenarios involving AI technology, considering the impact on stakeholders and society as a whole
- Develop policies and procedures that promote transparency, accountability, and fairness in the design, deployment, and use of AI systems within an organisation's operations
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
