Overview

This module is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory compliance requirements, governance frameworks, and ethical considerations within the context of cybersecurity in the digital economy. It covers legal and regulatory standards like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), industry-specific regulations such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), corporate governance principles, and ethical handling of sensitive data. Participants will learn to align cybersecurity strategies with regulatory requirements, develop effective governance structures, and address real-world challenges through case studies. Upon completion of this module, they will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while upholding ethical standards within their roles as cybersecurity professionals operating within the digital economy.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of compliance, governance, and ethics in cybersecurity within the context of the digital economy
  • Analyse regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to cybersecurity compliance and governance
  • Evaluate ethical considerations and best practices for managing cybersecurity risks in a digital economy environment
  • Develop strategies for implementing effective compliance programs and governance structures to ensure cyber resilience in organisations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of compliance, governance, and ethics in mitigating cyber threats and protecting digital assets within the modern business landscape
     

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
