Overview
Module 6 explores the ethical considerations and challenges that arise in the context of data analytics within the digital economy. Participants will examine various ethical frameworks and principles as they apply to data collection, analysis, and utilization. The module also delves into topics such as privacy, consent, bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance within the realm of data analytics. Through case studies and real-world examples, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate ethical dilemmas in data analytics while upholding integrity and responsibility in their professional practice.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the ethical implications of data collection, storage, and usage in the digital economy
- Analyse real-world case studies to identify ethical dilemmas and potential solutions in data analytics for the digital economy
- Evaluate the impact of unethical data practices on businesses, consumers, and society as a whole
- Develop strategies for implementing ethical considerations into data analytics processes within digital economy contexts
- Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to ethics in data analytics for the digital economy
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
