This module is presented in the following blended learning format:

3.5 hours: Synchronous e-Learning (Weekday, 9am-12.30pm)
3.5 hours: Asynchronous e-Learning
7 hours: Classroom Training (Weekday, 9am-5pm)

Who Should Attend

This programme is aimed at educators and organisational leaders who are keen to understand and leverage Edtech to innovate from within the institutions and learning organisations. The programme is specifically designed for those who seek to integrate new technologies and tools into the learning process.

 

PREREQUISITES

Participants should preferably be an educator or leader of a school, university, learning teams/ organisation, or Edtech startups.

Overview

From enhancing collaboration through digital learning spaces to fostering active discussions, Module 4 delves deeper into the ways Edtech and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions can be successfully implemented to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Participants will explore a range of tools, platforms and strategies catering to different educational settings, from traditional classrooms to online and blended learning environments. By understanding the pedagogical benefits of Edtech and AI and its potential to transform the classroom, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices, leading to improved engagement, collaboration, and achievement, making education more accessible, engaging, and effective.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about digital tools and resources for online learning
  • Understand how Edtech and AI innovations can transform the classroom setting
  • Refine the approach for creating diverse learning experiences
  • Learn to leverage on the practical implementation of learning analytics in educational contexts
  • Understand the impact of embedded learning on learner engagement and outcomes

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

Christy was previously the head of global education at Zoom, where she helped grow the company from 40 total employees to 8,500+, specializing in working with schools, universities, ministries of education, and countries scale hybrid, online, and in-person solutions, while also developing key strategic partnerships and alliances globally

Christy spent 8 years building Zoom’s education vertical, wearing a variety of hats across numerous industries and business segments. She identified the importance of various integrations and capabilities that allowed schools, organizations and enterprises to be able to go online more seamlessly, brought together executive global leadership of ministries of education, enterprise companies, organizations, and country leadership on high impact projects, and led various teams in the education space across the world.

Christy also founded Zoom’s very first employee resource group, Women at Zoom, where she led a global team focused on creating safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces of open communication, discussion and care, implementing mental health and wellness programs and fostering inspiration, success, and wellbeing.

With more than 10 years of experience in various aspects of Learning and development, Nilanjana is passionate about creating and delivering impactful and innovative learning experiences that challenge status quo in learning and learn tech, towards driving business growth and customer engagement.

Nilanjana started her career as a chemistry school teacher, exploring both high and junior schools across international schools in Singapore. She then disrupted her well-to-do job and career towards finding meaning and engaging in ‘How people learn’, and that is what led her to complete her second masters in learning sciences and technology from the University of Sydney, Australia with a global G8 ranking in this space. She then went on to work with several start-ups (a virtual reality, and a MOOC start-up in specific) in Australia itself, focusing on challenging and rethinking learning using the learning sciences evidenced based approach.

Currently a Senior Manager of Learning Innovation for a national level organization, Nilanjana brings together multiple stakeholders, fosters community engagement, and collaborates with international partners. She focuses on leveraging learning sciences and technology to reimagine learning and how human capital can be more effectively and meaningfully utilized by thoughtfully integrating the social, technological, and commercial aspects of innovation. 

Separately, she engages in thought leadership, is an invited speaker at several national and global conferences, as well as a published author.
