PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
To effectively navigate the fundraising environment against this backdrop, companies need to understand how to align their ESG and sustainability-linked practices to the requirements of investors, financial institutions and stakeholders. This course aims to equip participants with a practical approach towards issuing a social loan or sustainability-linked loan using an ESG and/or sustainability-linked framework commonly referenced by banks and institutional investors within the industry.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and their relevance in the financial industry
- Design a social financing framework and sustainability-linked financing framework
- Learn how to effectively align an ESG financing framework with the requirements of financial institutions
- Understand the engagement process behind how corporates communicate with ESG rating agencies to successfully commission a second party opinion (SPO)
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
