Overview
This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of what good data management is, the key components of data management and how these have a direct impact on business performance. Participants will learn how data management is integral to the strategic direction of the business, how data is governed through its entire lifecycle, the benefits of various components of strong data management, and how it may be best leveraged to drive business outcomes. They will be equipped to best deploy effective data management practices for whichever business function they are in to create strategy and make better informed business decisions.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the role of data management in the role of business strategic decisions
• Demonstrate an understanding of the full spectrum of data management along the entire lifecycle of data
• Show a strong understanding of the drivers of sustained good data quality and how people and technology can support this
• Show an appreciation of the trends and driving forces behind the evolution of data management
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
