Corporate professionals who are keen in driving innovation and change through intrapreneurship, or those seeking a deeper understanding  of how to transform ideas into reality and contribute to the digital revolution within their organisations.


PREREQUISITES

There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.

Overview

We are familiar with groundbreaking innovations like 3M's Post-it Notes and Google's Gmail. However, what connects these two inventions? They were both spearheaded by intrapreneurs - visionary individuals who harnessed their entrepreneurial spirit within the framework of their respective companies to create products that revolutionised the way we live and work.

In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, the need for agile, innovative, and adaptive talent has never been greater. This 5-day course is designed to equip professionals with the intrapreneurial acumen necessary to drive growth, foster innovation, and navigate the complexities of the modern corporate environment.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 5-day course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the current trajectory of intrapreneurship and recognise its increasing relevance and significance in today's dynamic business environment
  • Develop the mindset and skillset necessary to identify and leverage opportunities within their organisation, fostering a culture of innovation and proactive problem solving
  • Practice essential intrapreneurial techniques, including consumer research, idea validation, experimentation, and iterative development, to ensure the viability and success of innovative initiatives
  • Familiarise themselves with a range of tools and frameworks designed to kickstart and support intrapreneurial endeavours within their organisation, enhancing their capacity to drive positive change
  • Develop a solid understanding of basic financial concepts to become a well-equipped intrapreneur
  • Develop the confidence and adaptability needed to navigate through uncertain situations and complex organisation, enabling them to actively participate in and contribute to intrapreneurship programmes within their organisation

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

SkillsFuture Credit

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
  • Trainees are eligible for ETSS funding only if their company's SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date. To verify your SME's status, please click here.

Saim Yeong Harng

Saim is a corporate professional-turned-intrapreneur who has taken an idea at Standard Chartered Bank from inception to launch, subsequently spinning it off from the bank and turning the bank into an investor of the business venture. Saim scaled the venture from the ground up and successfully led its acquisition in 2023. Prior to this, he led digital transformation initiatives in consulting, financial services, and technology sectors. He is currently developing the next innovative idea with SC Ventures at Standard Chartered Bank.  

 

Saim is a mentor for the Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) and Shell Startup Engine Programme, and serves as a non-executive director for a nonprofit organisation that supports children. His leadership and innovative contributions have been recognised with multiple industry awards at the global level, including the Digital CX Awards: Outstanding Transformation in Digital CX during COVID-19 by The Digital Banker.

She brings over a decade of experience in advising business and government leaders about strategies for the long term. She is a thought leader and a seasoned public speaker who has spoken at leading business conferences internationally. Over the past years, she has delivered over 50 speaking engagements to C-suite audiences on topics such as technology, innovation and navigating disruption. She was a Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Valedictorian, and a pioneer member of the Singapore Leaders Network Fellows and Young Women’s Leadership Connection.

Gerald Foo is a seasoned leader with a career spanning corporate, digital ventures, and impact-driven innovation. He began in Shell’s Downstream Energy business in New Zealand before taking on commercial leadership roles across Europe and Asia, spending the last 15 years in Singapore focusing on Emerging Asian markets.

In 2022, he became CEO of Connected Freight, combining his passions for sustainability and innovation to drive tech-enabled efficiencies in last-mile deliveries. After 20+ years in corporate and startup environments, he is now supporting climate-tech startups in Southeast Asia, focusing on decarbonization and circularity.

He mentors founders through Shell Startup Engine, ACE.SG, and NUS GRIP, guiding startups from early-stage growth to scale-up in ESG SaaS, waste-to-worth, material sciences, and energy transition. He also advocates for climate action and sustainable development as a guest speaker.
