Career Conversion Programme (CCP)

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) by Workforce Singapore (WSG) helps mid-career or newly hired individuals to undergo skills conversion and move into roles with good prospects and opportunities for progression. This course is applicable for the CCP and the company has to sponsor the employees to be eligible to apply for the CCP grant. Upon the individual’s completion of this course, the individual will have to apply the skills and knowledge learned into the redesigned or new role according to the developed OJT training plan. Individuals who fulfil the criteria will be able to receive 3 – 6 months’ salary support after completing the OJT plan.

For applicants (employer-sponsored) interested on the CCP programme:

  1. Apply at least 4 weeks before course commencement to allow lead time for WSG’s approval. CCP application and OJT templates can be downloaded from SMU Portal.
     
  2. Upon completion of the course, participants will be offered additional support via an optional 1-hour session with PwC to discuss on their progress of their on-the-job training plan and use cases, seek advice, discuss challenges faced or explore future initiatives or growth opportunities within the organisations.
     
  3. Participants MUST apply for the course first before submitting their CCP application to WSG.
     
  4. Note that CCP applications (including processing of salary support) is fully administered by WSG. Applicants need to fulfil all criteria listed and submission approved by WSG before receiving the salary support.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 5-day course, participants will be able to:

Topic/Structure

Module Synopsis 

Module 1: Data governance 

 

 

Collation and exchange of data among the different personas and organisations occur in day-to-day operations such as invoice, delivery note, purchase order etc. Proper data governance should be implemented when handling these data to ensure adherence to the organisation’s policies and quality in producing the data. 

This module explains the roles, policies, standards, and processes for managing and using data effectively and securely in an organisation.

Module 2: Data privacy and protection  

Introduction to the different data classification will enable understanding of the different types of data in an organisation. This ensures data privacy compliance to PDPA requirements to prevent any data breaches or leakages that could impact the organisation. 

This module defines who can access data policies, processes and tools for collecting, storing, managing, and sharing data to prevent unlawful access towards sensitive data (e.g., customer’s personal data such as delivery address, purchase history etc.).

  • Risks, compliance and ethics associated with data protection

Module 3: Data-driven decision making 

Analysing the right data with adequate quality allows organisations to make strategic decisions.

This module introduces data and analytics, its benefits and challenges, as well as tips and tricks from business problem statements or use cases to data requirements. Topics include:   

  • Differentiating domains such as data management, data governance, and data science  
  • Discovering business problems and translating these into use cases, thereafter, arriving at data and analytics solutions  
  • Common pitfalls  
Module 4: Data monetisation and sharing 

Leveraging data that is available allow organisations to understand customer behaviour and supplier capabilities. This results in a competitive advantage as the organisation can expand/create products or services to connect with other partners digitally, boosting operational efficiency and fostering growth in the logistics sector. 

This module explains the drivers and techniques for data monetisation and data sharing, and factors for consideration to value and share data safely 

  • Introduction to data monetisation and data sharing

  • Data monetisation use cases and data sharing best practices 
  • Target Operating Model for data sharing 
Module 5: Data analytics 

Data is the foundation for analytical decisions and should be harnessed and utilised to make strategic decisions for the organisation. Data from operations can be analysed to provide insights and enable near real-time analytics for better planning of delivery of goods and services. 

This will be a highly interactive and hands-on session to test the participants understanding across Modules 1 to 4, including how data and analytics could transform their organisations and industry. Topics include:  

  • Hands on experience in some of the self-service digital and data tools 
  • Case studies of where analytics has transformed organisations 

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
