Overview
In a rapidly evolving market, adopting digital strategies is essential for maintaining competitiveness and improving operational efficiency. This programme is designed to guide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the shipping and maritime industry towards a future marked by innovation and growth through digital transformation. It will provide participants with a detailed roadmap for navigating the complexities of digital transformation and leveraging its potential for their business. Throughout the programme, participants will delve into the current challenges, trends, and benefits of digital transformation specific to the shipping and maritime industries, as well as related sectors. They will gain essential insights into crafting a strong digital transformation roadmap that aligns with their organisation's goals, technology needs, and skill requirements. By the end of the programme, participants will be well-prepared to lead their organisation through a successful transformation journey, fostering innovation and positioning their business for future success. Career Conversion Programme (CCP) The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) by Workforce Singapore (WSG) helps mid-career or newly hired individuals to undergo skills conversion and move into roles with good prospects and opportunities for progression. This course is applicable for the CCP and the company has to sponsor the employees to be eligible to apply for the CCP grant. Upon the individual’s completion of this course, the individual will have to apply the skills and knowledge learned into the redesigned or new role according to the developed OJT training plan. Individuals who fulfil the criteria will be able to receive 3 – 6 months’ salary support after completing the OJT plan.
2. Upon completion of the course, participants will be offered additional support via an optional 1-hour session with PwC to discuss on their progress of their OJT training plan, seek advise, discuss challenges faced or explore future initiatives or growth opportunities within their organisations. 3. Note that CCP applications (including processing of salary support) is fully administered by SSA. Learning Objectives
At the end of the 5 half-day workshop, participants will be able to:
- Gain insights on what are prevalent digital transformation challenges, trends, and benefits in the shipping and maritime industry (along with other relevant and adjacent industries)
- Understand key considerations of a good digital transformation roadmap and the framework for digital transformation
- Understand how to use relevant tools (e.g., strategic business model canvas and others to evaluate training initiatives)
- Develop a draft digital transformation roadmap, aligned to organisational goals, technology and skill requirements to realise digital transformation
- Enhance and uplift draft existing digital transformation roadmap based on priorities, impact, investment, urgency etc.
- Gain insights on how to operationalise digitalisation journey and prioritise initiatives
- Understand how to track, measure and account for progress in a company’s digital transformation

This workshop discusses the characteristics of a good digital transformation roadmap and introduce a Digital Transformation Framework and Digital Maturity Assessment Report, which will guide participants to craft their own digital transformation roadmap. This ensures that companies stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape and adapt their digital strategies to capitalise on new opportunities or address potential challenges. Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
