Overview

Sustainability Project Management is a vital skill in today's business environment, ensuring organisations can achieve their sustainability goals while maintaining operational efficiency.

This course empowers participants with the ability to integrate Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into project management practices, fostering organisational resilience and long-term impact.

The objective of this course is to enable professionals to plan, execute, and manage sustainability projects effectively by leveraging structured methodologies, engaging stakeholders, and utilising Artificial Intelligence-assisted tools for enhanced decision-making. Participants will gain the skills needed to align projects with global sustainability standards and drive impactful change within their organisations.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 5-day course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand key Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) concepts and integrate them into sustainability project management
  • Prioritise material sustainability issues through stakeholder engagement and industry standards
  • Plan and execute sustainability projects global frameworks aligned with global frameworks like Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Utilise Artificial Intelligence-assisted tools for data-driven planning, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring
  • Manage project scopes and resources efficiently, while engaging stakeholders effectively
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on sustainability project outcomes and ensure continuous improvement

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

Kai Suan is an accomplished Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) Professional with over 20 years of proven expertise, combining strong technical, operational, and leadership experience. Recognised for a hands-on approach in driving EHSS programmes, with a solid track record in mentoring and coaching professionals to effectively implement and execute EHS and Facilities initiatives across diverse industries. As an Adjunct Trainer and Educator with more than a decade of academic teaching experience, he has contributed to the development of future EHSS leaders through teaching and curriculum design at various institutions. He is a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with over 20 years of hands-on experience and holds multiple professional certifications, including Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) from the Institution of Engineers Singapore, Certified Water Efficiency Manager, Certified ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor, Certified GHG Accounting Lead Verifier (TÜV), Certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner at the Advanced Level, Certified Solar Technologist, and ACTA Certified Trainer and Assessor.
