A Journey at the Intersection of Law and Technology
For Rishi, his journey with SMU’s Industry Practice Master of Digital Economy (IPMDE) was an opportunity to deepen his understanding of the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As a legal and privacy professional, he explored the intersection of technology, law, data governance, artificial intelligence and business transformation. Bringing Learning into Practice
Rishi’s professional work sits at the intersection of data protection, cybersecurity and AI governance. The perspectives strengthened through IPMDE have supported his continued engagement with these areas. At the World Lawyers Forum 2026, he shared practical guidance through his session, “AI Governance in Practice: What In-House Counsel Must Do Before AI Scales Across the Enterprise.”
As Senior Legal & Privacy Consultant, Singapore, Rishi discussed practical strategies for establishing AI governance frameworks, managing legal, privacy and compliance risks, and strengthening enterprise AI readiness.
Contributing to the Conversation on Responsible AI
Rishi also joined the World Lawyers Forum 2026 as a panelist for “Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Rights: Navigating Litigation and Regulatory Challenges.” Working at the intersection of data protection, cybersecurity and AI governance, he looked forward to contributing to discussions on how organisations can navigate increasingly complex regulatory expectations while continuing to innovate in a digital-first economy.
Continuing the Learning Journey
For Rishi, learning extends beyond the programme. He is grateful to the faculty, staff and SMU community for creating an environment that encourages continuous learning, innovation and meaningful exchange of ideas.
