Who Should Attend
Managers, executives, officers, auditors, end-users, contract owners and specialists in purchasing, procurement and supply chain management roles whose responsibilities requires knowledge of procurement.
PREREQUISITES
Participants should preferably be
- conversant in English, both spoken and written; and
- proficient in MS Office.
Overview
Being ethical means being in accordance with the rules or standards for right conduct or practise, especially the standards of a profession. This module equips participants with the right knowledge of procurement fraud modus operandi, red flag, and the skills to detect them early by studying some of the high-profile fraud cases and procurement lapses. The course also discusses the various dimensions that would help organisations enable sustainable procurement in the new world.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the principles of public procurement and the key role they place in conducting a fair and ethical procurement process
- Recognise the essential role of each stakeholder in reducing opportunities for corrupt practices and conflicts of interest
- Understand where in the procurement process corruption risks and ethical dilemmas can occur and understand how to anticipate and avoid them
- Promote common values and define the behaviour and performance expected of procurement professionals
- Understand what is sustainable procurement and its benefits
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
