Overview
Module 2 delves into the crucial process of data collection and preprocessing for artificial intelligence (AI) product development. Participants will learn about various methods and techniques for collecting relevant data, including web scraping, application programming interface (API) integration, and data acquisition from different sources. The module also covers the importance of data quality and strategies for ensuring clean, accurate, and reliable datasets through preprocessing techniques such as cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering. Participants will also explore ethical considerations related to data collection and processing in the context of AI product development within the digital economy. By the end of this module, participants will have gained practical skills in acquiring high-quality data sets essential for successful AI product development projects.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of data collection and preprocessing in artificial intelligence (AI) product development within the context of the digital economy
- Demonstrate proficiency in selecting appropriate data sources and methods for collecting high-quality data to be used in AI product development
- Apply various techniques for cleaning, transforming, and preparing raw data to ensure its suitability for use in AI models and products
- Evaluate different strategies for handling missing or incomplete data during the preprocessing stage of AI product development
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of ethical considerations related to data collection and preprocessing in the context of developing AI products for the digital economy
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
