Overview
Module 1 provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental concepts and principles related to AI product development within the context of the digital economy. Key topics covered include an introduction to AI technologies, understanding the role of AI in shaping digital products, exploring ethical considerations in AI product development, and analysing case studies of successful AI-driven products. Participants will also gain insights into key challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AI into product development processes. Through this module, participants will develop a strong foundation for leveraging AI technologies effectively in developing innovative products within the dynamic landscape of the digital economy.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental concepts and principles of artificial intelligence (AI) product development in the context of the digital economy
- Analyse the impact of AI on various industries and identify opportunities for innovation and growth in a digital economy
- Evaluate different AI technologies, tools, and platforms used in product development within the digital economy landscape
- Apply design thinking methodologies to develop AI-driven products that meet user needs and align with business objectives in a digital economy setting
- Critically assess ethical considerations, regulatory frameworks, and potential risks associated with AI product development in the digital economy
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
