PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
The lean approach to entrepreneurship is a methodology that encourages entrepreneurs to experiment with less-than-perfect products and use validated learning to improve rapidly. This approach helps company builders choose viable opportunities, stay focused, and align the entire organisation. With the hands-on workshop on using lean methodologies, this module is designed to enable founders and business owners to create a financially stable business and addresses the misconception that a good idea alone ensures success, emphasising the importance of execution and alignment with market needs. By the end of the module, participants will learn how to identify business opportunities that match their unique vision and capabilities, and how to determine what constitutes a minimum viable product (MVP), to streamline the path to market entry while ensuring the core business idea is both feasible and sustainable.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Gain insights into the principles of financial stability within a lean business framework
• Understand why the inherent quality of a business idea does not guarantee success, and what factors do
• Learn to identify and evaluate opportunities that are compatible with their strengths and business objectives
• Discover the process of defining and creating a minimum viable product to test and validate business concepts with minimal resources
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
