Overview
Most entrepreneurs and founders are often focused on securing funding and understanding business valuation. A good pitch can help businesses secure funding, build strategic partnerships and generate sales. This module is designed to guide participants to develop persuasive and clear pitches, with a focus on creating engaging pitch decks and summaries that convey their business vision. Also, it provides a detailed overview of diverse financing avenues, from angel investment to Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and demystifies complex investment concepts and term sheet details. By the end of the module, participants will be applying their learned skills in a realistic setting and receiving valuable feedback from seasoned experts, preparing entrepreneurs for successful venture presentations and negotiations.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Craft a concise and compelling executive summary and pitch deck
• Integrate key business plan components and accurate financial projections
• Navigate and plan for potential exit strategies and liquidity events
• Communicate their business idea effectively to investors and partners
• Understand the spectrum of funding options available for businesses at different stages
• Gain knowledge of how to approach and secure various types of funding
• Develop the ability to comprehend and negotiate term sheets effectively
• Be able to effectively present a business plan and pitch in a competitive environment
• Understand the key elements that make a pitch successful in the eyes of investors and judges
• Receive direct feedback on their business proposition and presentation skills
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
