Who Should Attend

This certificate is designed for entry level employees in supply chain management. It is also helpful for executives who are new to supply chains or a specific domain, people re-entering the job market and experienced employees looking to work with commercial opportunities.

PREREQUISITES

There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.

Overview

The rapid technological developments in recent years have witnessed a renewed focus on intermodal freight transportation driven by changing requirements of global supply chains.

This module is designed for individuals seeking to develop an operating knowledge of transportation operations management relating to manufacturing and supply chain. Participants will acquire concepts and operational specifics of commercial intermodal transportation pertaining to freight movement. They will also learn about intermodal services, terminals, equipment and information systems and the interactions between individual modes and intermediaries.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the key concepts of multi-modal integrated transport in an urban and regional context
  • Understand current practices and developments in transport planning studies and how to get results
  • Understand the practical issues and approaches in integrating multi-modal transport

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

With over 30 years of global supply chain experience, Steven Lesser believes in three foundational pillars to achieve supply chain success: leadership, talent management, and technology. His unique approach comes from experience living and working in the US, Mexico, Australia, and Singapore, managing teams in every global region, and tackling complex supply chain problems for multibillion dollar corporations including Orica, Hexion, and Ryder System.

 

Armed with vast experience and a well-established network, Steve created On It Supply Pte. Ltd. (formerly Lesser Supply Chain) in 2019 allowing him to follow his passion of helping small to medium-sized businesses transform and uplift their supply chains and to help supply chain startups go to market. Currently, Steve is leading the Asia Pacific business development for an emerging shipment visibility solution (Tag-N-Trac) and a high growth supplier management application (Graphite Systems) in addition to providing advisory support to clients across multiple market verticals.

 

Originally from the US, Steve has lived in Asia Pacific for over 13 years including two stints in Singapore for 10 years where he currently resides. Steve earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and his MBA from Brigham Young University.
