Who Should Attend

Managers, executives, officers, auditors, end-users, contract owners and specialists in purchasing, procurement and supply chain management roles whose responsibilities require knowledge of procurement.

PREREQUISITES

Participants should preferably be

conversant in English, both spoken and written; and
proficient in MS Office

Overview

Effective procurement makes a difference to the company's bottom line and the value they deliver to both internal and external stakeholders.

As procurement grows in importance over the next decade, the value proposition it brings to the company and its stakeholders will increase exponentially. This module is designed as an introductory course to kick start the participants' journey into a formal procurement role with the sharing of essential skills and knowledge. After attending the module, participants will develop a better understanding of procurement in general and get prepared for the intensive deep dives into the other modules in the certificate programme.

Appreciate the total procurement lifecycle and key agent roles
Grasp the concept of budget, profitability and cost savings
Acquire the essential skills required for procurement
Plan and apply different skills at different stages

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
