Overview
Purchasing professionals are now expected to be agile, more informed and able to develop proactive supply management strategies that are aligned with organisation’s competitive objectives. The shift from transactional, operational purchasing to strategic procurement is inevitable. This certificate programme seeks to develop in participants a comprehensive set of skills required of a world-class purchasing professional to implement the most up-to-date procurement strategies and policies.
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Procurement Essentials, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
Module 1: Fundamentals of Procurement
Module 2: Mastering Specification Writing with Design Thinking
Module 3: Evaluation and Bid Analysis
Module 4: Advanced Procurement Negotiation
Module 5: Contract and Performance Management
This module is part of the Industry Graduate Diploma in Strategic Procurement.
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 5 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Procurement Essentials issued by Singapore Management University.
