Overview
In an increasingly knowledge- and digital-driven economy, middle managers are finding it hard to navigate the expectations from senior management and subordinates. According to Deloitte, 70% of business digitalisation initiatives fail; key reasons being poor technology adoption and poor internal engagement.
Middle managers are required by upper management to enforce digitalisation but are confounded by the inadequacies and mis-alignment of digital solutioning by the lower rung staff. Middle managers are not sufficiently knowledgeable about digital technology to navigate the change management process. In addition, middle managers fear being made obsolete with business digitalisation.
This certificate programme provides participants with the skills and confidence to navigate the complexities of business digitalisation initiatives to significantly improve the odds of success. Participants will be exposed to hands-on exercises on use cases to reinforce the learnings
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Succeeding Business Digitalisation, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
Module 1: Strategic Frameworks and Methodologies
Module 2: Competitive Advantage of Digital and Data
Module 3: Strategic Approaches Across Diverse Sectors
Module 4: Digitalisation Implementation and Change Strategies
Module 5: Capstone Project - Digitalisation Roadmap
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Succeeding Business Digitalisation issued by Singapore Management University.
