Who Should Attend
- Professionals interested in using Technical Analysis as a skill set to develop their financial career
- Self-taught traders interested in improving or widening their skill set
- Anyone including beginners with keen interest in learning about Technical Trading
PREREQUISITES
- A Bachelor's Degree; or
- A Diploma with at least 1 year of working experience
Overview
Gain a progressive, in-depth understanding of the applications of TA in financial markets. Participants will explore various trading strategies, learning to apply and evaluate both long-term and intra-day strategies. The programme also covers various trading platforms and technology, including Algorithmic Trading, to empower Technical Analysts with better decision-making. The programme also includes a live class where participants can apply these skills in real-time financial markets.
This is a sequential programme.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 17-day course, participants will be able to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of Technical Analysis (TA) and the use of a variety of technical indicators in financial markets
- Apply TA to support objective trading and investment decisions when analysing financial markets
- Explore a variety of TA strategies and the unique use of indicators to provide practical knowledge and real-world application
- Develop an in-depth understanding of advanced indicators used in today’s financial markets
- Examine intraday trading strategies used in modern financial markets
- Explore how Algorithmic Trading is applied in today’s financial markets
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Technical Trading, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:

Module 2: Trading Using Technical Analysis – Foundation and Market Strategies 2
Module 3: Intraday Trading Strategies Using Ichimoku
Module 4: Advanced Technical Indicators in the Financial Markets
Module 5: Algorithmic Trading
Module 6: Live Trading & Applications
Assessment
An assessment will be conducted at the end of each module.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of all 6 modules within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital Advanced Certificate in Technical Trading.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
- Trainees are eligible for ETSS funding only if their company's SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date. To verify your SME's status, please click here.
