Overview
Unlike coding-heavy or theoretically abstract courses, this module is grounded in accounting controls and enterprise process logic. Participants learn to distinguish agentic AI workflows from traditional Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Generative AI (GenAI) prompting, design safe orchestration patterns, and assess where human judgement must remain central within finance processes. Whether in accounting, finance, audit, or shared services, the focus is on equipping professionals with practical skills to lead AI-enabled operating models, without getting lost in hype or technical complexity.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 3-day programme, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) workflows from deterministic automation, Generative AI (GenAI) prompting, and traditional Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in accounting and finance contexts
- Identify finance processes where agentic AI can create value, based on process variability, decision complexity, control requirements and exception volume
- Decompose accounting and finance workflows into structured agent tasks, decision points, tool interactions and human review checkpoints
- Design orchestration logic for an agent-enabled finance process, including task sequencing, approval gates, fallback rules, and escalation paths
- Compare alternative solution approaches, for example, manual, deterministic automation, GenAI-assisted and agentic, using business value and implementation feasibility criteria
- Build out a practical agentic AI use case for a finance function, from scoping through to deployment readiness assessment
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.
