There are no prerequisites for this programme. As this programme is conducted in English, participants should be proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Overview
This programme builds the capability to design and manage digital-era strategic alliances. Participants learn how to evaluate partners using platform economics and assess alignment with organisational goals. They will also map digital customer journeys across alliance touchpoints and structure governance mechanisms that support collaboration.
The programme introduces data-informed approaches to monitor performance and maximise value across interconnected organisations. Participants will also develop community partnership skills, strengthen consultation capabilities, and apply stakeholder engagement strategies to build long-term trust across digital ecosystems.
This programme is a collaboration between SMU Academy and Universal Stage (UStage), a consultancy-based training company, to equip leaders with the versatile capabilities to lead their people and enterprises in a digitalisation-enabled future.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate strategic partners based on digital capability complementarity, platform economics fit, and alignment with organisational transformation goals
- Design alliance governance structures and value-sharing arrangements supported by performance metrics, decision rights, accountability frameworks, and mapped digital customer journey touchpoints across the alliance ecosystem
- Implement community partnership development models to build and sustain collaborative relationships through co-creation and trust
- Apply professional consultation competencies to position the organisation as a credible advisory partner in alliance environments
- Deploy inclusive stakeholder engagement strategies to nurture long-term relational trust across digitally connected networks
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimise alliance performance using data-informed review mechanisms and adaptive renegotiation strategies that sustain value generation over time
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
