Overview
This programme builds competency in designing, governing, and leading effective teams through digital collaboration platforms (e.g. project management tools, shared workspaces, and communication platforms), advanced communication frameworks, and virtual team management practices.
Participants develop stakeholder engagement capabilities to build shared commitment and co-create governance structures across digitally distributed organisational ecosystems - applying effective client communication skills to align diverse stakeholder expectations, resolve cross-functional misalignments, and sustain collective accountability toward shared digital business goals.
This programme is a collaboration between SMU Academy and Universal Stage (UStage), a consultancy-based training company, to equip leaders with the versatile capabilities to lead their people and enterprises in a digitalisation-enabled future.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Design high-performance interdisciplinary team structures by selecting and configuring appropriate digital collaboration platforms (e.g., project tracking tools and shared dashboards), and establishing technology-enabled performance metrics (e.g., task completion rates and collaboration activity indicators) and platform governance protocols
- Apply advanced workplace communication strategies (e.g., structured dialogue protocols, inclusive facilitation techniques, and cross-cultural communication frameworks) to enable seamless collaboration across digitally diverse team compositions
- Implement virtual and hybrid team management practices using digital coordination tools (e.g., workflow tracking systems, shared dashboards, and communication platforms) to monitor performance, ensure accountability, and optimise team coordination across the unique governance and communication challenges of geographically dispersed and digitally-enabled distributed teams
- Apply community partnership principles to build collaborative cultures characterised by mutual trust, shared ownership, and co-created outcomes across disciplinary and functional boundaries
- Apply stakeholder engagement strategies to build shared commitment, co-create collaborative governance frameworks, and align diverse disciplinary interests toward collective digital performance outcomes
- Practise effective client communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholder expectations, resolve cross-functional misalignments, and sustain collective accountability toward shared organisational and digital business goals
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
