Overview

Financing is the cornerstone of ensuring delivery of low carbon electricity and technology which are pivotal to lowering global carbon emissions. As Singapore is positioning itself as a finance hub for decarbonisation, it is important for professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) to understand how clean energy assets are financed in different ways.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand and articulate the various routes of financing decarbonisation assets and/ or companies 
  • Gain insights on the financing ecosystem in green infrastructure/ technology and enable participants to appreciate the end-to-end nature and multi-stakeholder groups so as to function more effectively in their current/ future roles 
  • Learn about the principles of financing and what criteria makes an asset bankable and thus financiable as well as understand key risks that affect bankability 
  • Learn examples of financing decarbonisation assets such as solar rooftops and utility-scale solar 
  • Explore the options of financing, the process of financing, and contractual structures pertinent to asset types 
  • Uncover practical examples of commercial documents related to financing ie power purchase agreements, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)/ operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts, termsheets, and financial models with solar assets as a case study

Assessment

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore

Camillus holds an Accountancy degree from NTU and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He worked at Accenture and Royal Dutch Shell before investing in Sunseap's Series A and B, later becoming CFO in 2015. He now runs his own advisory firm aNew Energy Pte Ltd which focuses on the energy value chain which covers LNG, renewable energy (including Singapore Clean Power imports), carbon projects in least developed countries, virtual power purchase agreement discussions with data centers, developing green hydrogen, clean tech venture capital fund raise and market connect into Asia. Notable transactions include securing a $65 million Series C funding for Sunseap, completing a 26MWp Cambodia solar farm with carbon sales, and facilitating EV motorbike swap fundraising. Camillus also invests in green hydrogen, decarbonisation, and lithium rejuvenation companies like H2Pro, Ekona, Xpansiv, and Green Lion.
