- a Bachelor's Degree or
- Diploma with at least 3 years working experience
Overview
This module explains how digitalisation:
- is currently reshaping the fundamentals of the corporate income tax (especially in the cross-border context); and
- has already made significant changes to the Goods and Services Tax.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will learn the basics of:
- Singapore’s corporate income tax regime
- cross-border income taxation
- how digitalisation has put tremendous stress on the fundamentals of cross-border income taxation
- how countries have reacted to the stresses of digitalisation from a corporate income tax perspective; eg by introducing Digital Services Tax, the OECD’s Pillar One Project etc
- Singapore’s Goods and Services Tax regime
- the “Netflix tax”
- the reverse charge on the importation of B2B services
- digital token taxation from a corporate income tax and GST perspective
Participants will be able to earn 14 CPD Points awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants when they attend this module.
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
