Overview
Across the Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs), the ability to identify, manage, protect and commercialise these digital assets has become a critical capability for finance and business professionals supporting innovation, digital transformation and sustainable growth.
This two-day course equips participants with the knowledge to understand how intangible assets and Intellectual Property (IP) drive enterprise value in today's digital economy. Participants will explore how AI, data and emerging digital technologies are transforming the creation, ownership, protection, valuation and governance of intangible assets, while examining the legal, ethical and commercial implications of AI-generated content and digital innovations.
Through practical case studies and real-world examples, participants will gain insights into managing digital and intangible assets across their lifecycle, understand key valuation and disclosure principles, and appreciate how robust governance of these assets supports investment decisions, innovation strategies and long-term organisational competitiveness.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the strategic role of intangible assets and intellectual property in enabling digital transformation and business value creation
- Identify how Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and digital technologies create new forms of intangible assets, and understand the associated governance, ownership, protection and commercialisation considerations
- Apply practical approaches to assessing and valuing intangible assets, including data, software and AI-enabled assets, to support business and investment decisions
- Recognise the importance of transparency, reporting and governance in managing digital and intangible assets
- Develop strategies to leverage intangible assets and IP to strengthen organisational innovation, competitiveness and long-term growth in the Digital Economy
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.
