PREREQUISITES
Participants must ideally have at least 2 years of work experience in financial services or foundational finance industry knowledge.
Overview
Participants will examine how global supply chain reconfiguration, trade policies, foreign exchange volatility, digital taxation and regulatory developments influence financial decision-making and business strategy. The course also explores how digital technologies, including data analytics, digital finance platforms, fintech solutions and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled insights, can strengthen risk management, improve organisational agility and support informed decision-making in a rapidly changing global environment.
Through practical case studies and real-world scenarios, participants will develop the capabilities to manage cross-border risks while leveraging digital tools to enhance business resilience and long-term competitiveness.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Analyse the financial impact of global supply chain disruptions and cross-border business risks using data analytics and digital insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate how geopolitical developments, trade regulations, sanctions and evolving global policies affect financial performance, market access and organisational risk
- Apply foreign exchange risk management and treasury strategies using digital finance technologies and fintech solutions
- Explain the implications of digital taxation, cross-border data governance and regulatory compliance for organisations operating in the Digital Economy
- Develop digitally enabled finance strategies that strengthen organisational resilience, support international growth and align with broader business transformation initiatives amid technological, sustainability and geopolitical disruption
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
