Overview
This highly interactive and hands-on course has something in store for everyone. Those among us who are adequate presenters will learn how to adapt and tailor their mastery of fundamental presentation skills to changing audiences and modalities. Those wishing to revisit basic presentation techniques will be introduced to core principles that underlie effective presentations such as preparation, research, slide-writing and audience engagement.
The course is conducted progressively in two main parts. First, learners will discuss the fundamentals of creating effective presentations using the PDF method – preparation, delivery and follow-up. Emphasis will be placed on delivery techniques that capture an audience’s attention and maximise retention for key information presented. Second, learners will be equipped with tips and techniques for creating memorable and engaging presentations using digital tools and platforms. In this second part, learners will also pick up additional pointers for delivering both synchronous and asynchronous presentations through online platforms such as Zoom.
