Who Should Attend

Leaders and managers involved in the coaching of other professionals/ learners for improvement or attainment of goals.

Minimum 5 years of working experience is required.

Overview

This module aims to prepare the participants who have successfully completed Modules 1 to 3 of the  Professional Certificate in Coaching, for their certification with the International Coach Federation (ICF,  the world’s largest organization of professionally trained coaches) as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 3-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Better understand the requirements of ICF certification
  • Acquire further training and practice on coaching to partially fulfil ICF's 100 hours of Coaching Experience
  • Be assessed by mentor coaches on their coaching development and practice with advice/ suggestions for improvements

Topic/Structure

Day 1

Review of Learning - Recap of models and its application; Identify areas to practice
Mentoring (I) - Deepen understanding of competences: Set the foundation and co-create the relationship
Set-up a Coaching Practice - Learn from established coaches and identify opportunities and next steps

Day 2

Coach Knowledge Assessment - What can be expected during the assessment and how to prepare
Mentoring (II) - Deepen understanding of competence: Communicating effectively
Build Coaching Hours - Practice coaching with feedback; Coaching is recorded and can be used as part of accreditation 

Day 3

Build Coaching Hours - Practice coaching with feedback - Coaching is recorded and can be used as part of accreditation 
Mentoring (III) - Deepen understanding of competence: Facilitate learning and results
Build Coaching Hours - Practice coaching with feedback; Coaching is recorded and can be used as part of accreditation 

 

ICF Credentialing

The program is recognized as accredited training by ICF - the world’s largest organization of professionally trained coaches, based in USA. The first three modules provide the participant with the required number of training hours related to the ICF competencies. The last module allows the participant to better understand the requirements of ICF credentialing and the preparation needed for their coaching career.

The program fulfils the training hours required in the ACSTH pathway to ICF certification. However, to qualify as an ICF-certified coach, you would need to fulfil other requirements as mentioned in the ICF website: https://coachingfederation.org/

Assessment

Participants have to meet a minimum attendance rate of 75% and have to complete all assessment(s) required by the course. Only upon meeting the minimum attendance and passing the assessment will participants be issued a Certificate of Completion.

Participants who fail the assessment will be given a chance for re-assessment at a fee of SGD100.00 (excluding prevailing GST). Each participant is allowed 1 re-assessment. The re-assessment has to be taken within 7 calendar days from the end of the course date. It will be held on a weekday specified by SMU Academy and conducted during office hours. Please note that re-assessment fees are not supported by SSG Funding.

Participants who meet the minimum attendance rate but do not achieve a pass for the assessment will be issued a Certificate of Participation.

Participants are required to bring their laptop to access the course materials, class exercises and individual assessment(s).

In order to be awarded with Professional Certificate in Coaching, participants are required to complete all 4 modules in sequence within 2 years.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
