Learning Objectives

  • Understand the concepts of Immersive Media and the Extended Realities (VR/ AR/ MR)
  • Create 3D models applicable for VR/ AR/ MR
  • Acquire basic proficiency in Unity3D
  • Achieve industry standards of UI/ UX
  • Understand the workflow and technicalities to develop applications for Extended Reality
  • Experience the process of creating a 360 video

Topic/Structure

To achieve the Professional Certificate in Immersive Media and Extended Reality, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy in sequential order:

Creative Ideation and Innovation
3D Content Creation for Extended Reality 
Exploring Augmented Reality with Unity3D 
Jumpstart in Digital User Experience Design 
Advanced Extended Reality Development 
360 Content Creation

CERTIFICATION

Upon completion of all 6 modules within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital Professional Certificate in Immersive Media and Extended Reality.

  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million

  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

Edmund is currently teaching at Singapore Institute of Technology on Immersive Media development using the latest toolkits available in the market.

Weng Yew is a Senior Mixed Reality Interaction Engineer and UX Lead at HelloHolo. He has developed multiple tailored experiences for different solutions, including an application that is publicly available on the Microsoft Store. He utilises his technical knowledge to effectively apply UX principles, using animations, effects and transitions. Weng Yew has also developed applications for other platforms including mobile and VR. His vast experience has enabled him to rapidly develop prototypes or analyse requirements for the mixed reality paradigm.
