Who Should Attend
Anyone with a basic technical background and some coding experience such as technical managers, developers, machine learning developers and data analysts.
PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites but some experience of finance and IT is advantageous. In particular:
- Basic Python coding experience
- Finance knowledge such as investments or loans
Overview
Quantum computing is advancing rapidly, showcasing its immense potential through demonstrations of 'quantum advantage' and continual technological improvements. Beyond the sheer speed, the true power of quantum computing lies in its unparalleled accuracy for specific use cases, especially within the financial sector.
This course will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of quantum computing, highlighting how it differs from classical computing. Emphasis will be placed on its current and future applications within financial services. Participants will also gain hands-on experience by programming real quantum computers, offering a practical dive into the quantum world.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 5-day course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the core principles of quantum computing and its foundational concepts
- Identify the unique advantages and potential limitations of quantum computing within the financial services industry
- Develop and implement quantum algorithms to address optimisation, machine learning, and complex modelling problems
- Recommend appropriate quantum computing solutions for various financial problem types
- Predict future trends and advancements in quantum computing and their implications for financial services
Assessment
As part of the requirement for funding, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
