Overview
The viewership of Esports is comparable to traditional sports competition due to its online and globalised nature. The evolving Esports landscape will unlock limitless opportunities for businesses and professionals to expand and flourish. This course will allow students to deepen their understanding of Esports, gain insight into Esports business models, and explore the potential of Esports in the Web 3.0 space.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 1-day course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of Esports, current developments and stakeholders in the gaming industry
- Gain insights into the Esports digital marketplace
- Understand game-play fundamentals, characteristics and identify potential games to enter Esports
- Learn the fundamentals of Esports event planning
- Explore the concept and inter-relationship of Web 3.0 and GameFi and the use of NFTs in Esports
- Uncover insights on the fan economy in Web 3.0 and growth opportunities of Esports and Web 3.0 technologies (blockchain and metaverse)
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course

- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
