Overview

In recent years, there has been a significant shift towards prioritising sustainability on the agendas of organisations, with sustainable investment steadily becoming a norm.

This course aims to introduce participants to sustainable investment concepts, principles and applications to enhance participants’ ability to integrate sustainable factors into investments. Participants will familiarise themselves with sustainable investment trends and different sustainable investment concepts. By examining practical local and international use cases, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to effectively integrate sustainable practices to investment management.

  • Explain the different sustainable investment approaches
  • Understand sustainable investment trends and principles
  • Apply approaches to including sustainable factors in investment process
  • Identify and differentiate the application of different sustainable investment concepts
  • Describe leading global and regional sustainable investment initiatives, coalitions, and pledges
  • Assess how sustainable investing practices can be integrated into their organisation through the incorporation of practical use-case studies

Assessment

  • Multiple Choice Questions

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

IBF - STS Funding (For courses commencing from 1 Jan 2023 onwards)

Standards Training Scheme

IBF-STS Funding of 50% is available to eligible institutions and qualified individuals, subject to meeting the attendance requirement and passing of assessment. The IBF-STS funding is subject to a cap of S$3,000 per participant per programme. 

Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training costs.

The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.

GoImpact platform, which she founded to promote Sustainable Finance, has partnered with organizations like Temasek Foundation and UNDP within its first year. A prominent speaker, Helene holds a First Class Honours degree in English and Economics from the University of Hong Kong.

Allen has more than 25 years of extensive experience in investment banking, venture investment and entrepreneurial startups. He has helped many entrepreneurs grow their business through mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, fund raisings and restructurings. 

A seasoned investment banker in established financial institutions such as DBS, OCBC and Daiwa Capital Markets, he spent most of his career in the financial industry, specialising in corporate finance services, with in-depth experience advising, executing and structuring M&A and IPO deals in Singapore and in the region. He has completed more than 40 deals with deal value totaling more than S$10 billion in diverse sectors spanning TMTs, financial, healthcare, energy, real estate, consumer and industrials. Allen currently provides consultancy and trainings for corporates, institutions and schools in the areas of corporate finance, investments and ESG. 

He has been awarded the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing. Allen graduated with MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and Chartered Valuer and Appraiser.

This course addresses the following Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and proficiency level: 

  • Sustainable Investment Management Proficiency Level 3

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.
