Educationists and teachers who are keen to learn how to use statistical analytics techniques and tools for improved teaching and learning.
PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
This course is a follow-on from the 1-day learning analytics bootcamp Enhance Teaching Effectiveness with Learning Analytics and Data Visualisation (I) - Bootcamp for Educationists, Teachers and School Leaders. It is specifically designed for educators and school leaders to equip them with a deeper practical knowledge and more hands-on skills of different learning analytics and visualisation tools. They will gain experience working with educational data sets, building their competence and confidence in using these tools to help their students achieve their personalised learning goals and objectives.
Learning Objectives
- Be familiarised with statistical analytics techniques using MS Excel and Tableau to interpret a wide range of data produced by and gathered on behalf of students in order to assess academic progress, predict future performance, and spot potential learning issues
- Use scientific methods that enable critical rationalisation between choices for equitable, well-balanced and informed pedagogy approach
- Use analytics tools to transform data into visual analytics for performance tracking
- Learn how to use descriptive, predictive and predictive analytics to facilitate decision making
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
