Overview
The role and expectations of a Corporate Relationship Manager is fast evolving and demanding, with increasing sophistication amongst clients and the complexities of the macro-economic environment today. With clients embarking on their digital transformation journeys and non-financial players entering the market with new products and services, client-facing managers must be equipped with the right skillsets to bring value to clients and support their growth in the long term.
Designed for new entrants, the Executive Certificate in Corporate Relationship Management programme will provide a structured training roadmap for participants to learn the fundamentals of corporate banking and acquire key competencies to become successful corporate bankers.
Accredited by Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), this certification programme which comprises of 4 modules is mapped to the role of Assistant Relationship Manager/ Relationship Associate, under the SSG Skills Framework for Financial Services. This programme will equip participants with the skills to support the acquisition and management of corporate clients, such as client onboarding, client support, assisting in credit risk assessment, market and industry research, the collection and preparation of essentials documentation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Participants who successfully complete the training and assessments for all 4 modules will also be awarded an IBF Level 1 “Qualified” Certification. The IBF Certification is an industry endorsed mark of quality for finance professionals in Singapore, awarded to practitioners who have acquired relevant core competencies required for jobs in their respective industry segments.

To achieve the Executive Certificate in Corporate Relationship Management, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
Assessment
As part of the requirement for IBF-STS accredited courses, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 4 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Executive Certificate in Corporate Relationship Management issued by Singapore Management University.

IBF - STS Funding (For courses commencing from 1 Jan 2023 onwards)
Standards Training Scheme
IBF-STS Funding of 50% is available to eligible institutions and qualified individuals, subject to meeting the attendance requirement and passing of assessment. The IBF-STS funding is subject to a cap of S$3,000 per participant per programme.
Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training costs.
The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.
