Overview

Traditional method of collecting data for gaining managerial insights, such as marketing surveys and focus groups, have take a significant amount of time and resources. Technology has since made data collection much easier and cost effective, and this course will teach you how to use it for gathering and analysing data for your own organisation. Get to know various emerging and efficient data collection method involving text mining techniques and R programming. You will learn how to manage and manipulate data with the R programming language, as well as collect data from social media platforms such as Twitter and a web-search volume indicator, or Google Trends. You will also be able to conduct a sentiment analysis for gaining insights that will help you make managerial decisions in a competitive environment.

Fees

Full Fee: S$10,272 per pax (including GST)

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Funding for Individuals:

  • S$3,081.60 (including GST) for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
  • S$1,161.60 (including GST) for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above

 

Funding

SkillsFuture Series 
Course fee grant at 70% of course fees (excluding GST) for participants who are successfully enrolled by SMU into approved courses under the Programme. Participants must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.


SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy ("MCES")
Up to 90% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above


Enhanced Training Support for SMEs ("ETSS")
Up to 90% of course fees; and 80% of basic hourly salary capped at $7.50/hr for local employees of SMEs


SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above, and self-funding may use their SkillsFuture Credit (up to S$500) to defray part of the course fee.  Please click User Guide on how to submit your claim. SkillsFuture Credit claims may be submitted by logging in via MySkillsFuture.sg.  As courses in this professional certificate have been modularised, participants will need to identify which course to apply credits for.

Admission Requirements

A good Bachelor's degree from a recognised University. Diploma holders from a recognised polytechnic with at least 3 years of relevant working experience will be favourably considered.
