Overview
By leveraging digital technologies to optimise resource use and urban system efficiency, smart cities play a critical role in promoting sustainability. Achieving this requires sustainable frameworks and governance, as well as collaboration with stakeholders, sustainable procurement, and citizen engagement.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2 day programme, you will:
- Understand the concept of smart cities and their potential to promote sustainability
- Understand the governance and regulatory frameworks that promote sustainability in smart cities
- Analyse case studies of successful sustainable smart cities and the strategies they used to achieve their sustainability goals
- Recognise the significance of monitoring and evaluation in ensuring that smart cities achieve their sustainability objectives
- Investigate emerging technologies and trends in sustainable smart cities, such as circular economy principles, green infrastructure, and renewable energy

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
