Overview
This module seeks to explore these transformative shifts and decode the complexities in the industry. The course is designed in four distinct parts.
The first part delves into the rise of digital banking, its profound relationship with Fintech, and the innovative solutions that are enhancing digital banking experiences while addressing critical aspects of digital identity and security.
The second part deep dives into the evolution of digital payments and credit systems, with focus on 'Buy Now, Pay Later' schemes. It provides an overview of various digital payment systems, discusses recent innovations, and evolution of credit in the Fintech era.
The third part looks into the structure and functions of Capital Markets and institutions, analysing the role of Fintech in reshaping these traditional markets, and the unique opportunities and challenges this transformation presents.
The fourth part focuses on robo-advisory and its impact on wealth management, exploring the role of automation and algorithms in investment and portfolio management and engaging in thought-provoking discussions on the implications of these technologies on traditional wealth management firms and the overall investment service landscape.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 4-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the transformative impact of Fintech on traditional banking and Capital Markets
- Recognise the key technologies enhancing digital banking experiences and their security implications
- Analyse the structure and functioning of capital markets and institutions
- Identify the role of Fintech in reshaping capital markets and payments and the challenges and opportunities it presents
- Understand the concept of robo-advisory and its implications for wealth management
- Analyse the role of artificial intelligence and algorithms in automated investment platforms
- Evaluate the impact of automated platforms on traditional wealth management services
- Recognise the regulatory considerations that shape the Fintech landscape in digital banking and wealth management
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
