SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- Functional Laptop: (1) CPU must be of at least intel core I3, (2) GPU must have an integrated graphics card and (3) RAM must be of at least 4GB
Admission requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of working experience; or
- A Diploma from a local polytechnic with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
Overview
Python is a complete open-source language and platform that are used for both research and development and developing production systems. It is also a minimalistic and intuitive language with a full-featured library line which provides multiple ways to execute each task and significantly reduces the time required to gather results. This programme will enable participants to perform automated analyses and interpret business interactions to take evidence-based actions.
Learning Objectives
Upon completing the programme, graduates will acquire knowledge and appreciate the fundamental concepts in programming, use of functions and data structure in Python, Object-oriented programming paradigm, basic data wrangling in Python, and applied data analysis using Python.
Graduates will demonstrate their understanding through the application of common statistical data analysis and visualisation techniques using Python. In addition, graduates will develop supervised and unsupervised machine learning models and complete the programme with two capstone projects.

To achieve the Industry Graduate Diploma in Python Programming and Machine Learning, participants will need to complete the following certificates offered by SMU Academy in sequential order:

- Object-Oriented Programming in Python
- Basic Data Wrangling in Python
- Capstone Project in Data Analytics
Part 2: Professional Certificate in Machine Learning (Python)
- Introduction to Python Programming
- Statistical Thinking and Exploratory Data Analysis
- Basic Concepts in Data Modelling
- Advanced Concepts in Data Modelling
- Practical Concepts in Supervised Machine Learning
- Practical Concepts in Unsupervised Machine Learning
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module as well as an overall Industry Graduate Diploma exam. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of all the required modules within 2 years and passing the overall IGD exam, participants will be awarded an Industry Graduate Diploma in Python Programming and Machine Learning.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
